Happy Fall Y'all!!

*
WOW! The days are flying by! I can't believe that it is already Halloween! It seems like just yesterday it was the middle of August when we got our first Halloween Express catalog in the mail and I was telling Sawyer, "Relax! Halloween is still 2 months away!" And now we are less than 2 months away from Christmas! Geesh!

Life has been great in the Huss house. We are very, very, very, very (did mention VERY!!) busy. We just got done with our YMCA classes and have signed up again for another session. Sawyer passed his swimming lessons. Tate really enjoyed karate, but has opted to take swimming lessons this session. Sofia continues to participate in ballet. She's getting really good at it too! Sometimes we catch her practicing her moves at home. Miss Nicole told me that last week when Aubree was gone she heard Sofia in the living room saying (and doing), "Shuffle step. Shuffle step." And she's not even in tap dancing. Maybe I've got a real dancing genius here! :o)

Our adoption progress continues to move at turtle-like speed. We attended a parent education seminar in Madison a couple of weeks ago and have decided to investigate all of our options regarding China - non special needs AND special needs, as well as other country programs. We got some good info on the South Korean program and we will also look at Vietnam as well. We meet with our social worker on the 13th to go over our options. We aren't ready to bring Daisy home yet, but we really need more of an idea of where the timeline is going. We have both agreed that getting an infant in 4-5 years is not in our best interest. We wouldn't mind another year or 18 months, but DEFINITLY not 3-5 years which it looks like the China NSN program is heading.

We had a couple of great days off last week for teacher convention. (Did I mention that I am a teacher and I just this year found out that there actually IS a teacher's convention on the days we get off for teacher's convention??) I spent a lot of time painting our basement. It is looking F*A*B if I do say so myself!! I had a bit of a snaffu on the playroom, but I intend to have that fixed and done by the end of the weekend. We have a professionaly coming in to look at the tile work that we want done. I am hoping that he will be somewhat reasonable, because at this point I just want to get this project DONE!! Did I mention that it is going to ROCK when we are able to actually live in it?? Bob took me to Door County on Friday. The best part of the trip was eating the cherry stuffed French toast at the White Gull Inn. WOW! That is TOTALLY worth the trip!

The weather has been weirdly mild this year. Yesterday and the day before were in the mid to upper 60's! That is CRAZY for this neck of the woods! Today, however, was sunny and bright, but BITTERLY cold. The wind was frigid!

Enjoy the pics!!
